DUATHLON INFO

RUN:  Both runs are identical except on the finish run that enters the WEST parking lot to finish.  You leave hells gate park on the levee path system and head north.  At 2K you will turn around and return.  There will be an aid station near the turn around.

BIKE:   Starting at Hells Gate you will leave the park and go RIGHT (South) and follow the road all the way to the stop sign where Tammany intersects with Thain/Webb.  You will then return back to Hells Gate State Park.  Nez Perce County Sheriff's Air Posse will have people at the turn around, at the entrance to the park and where 5th Street comes into Tammany.  There is one NEUTRAL section of the course and this is from the point of entry to the park to the transition area.  THIS IS A NO PASSING ZONE.   All other triathlon rules apply to the bike including:

1.  Stay to the Right

2.  No side by side riding

3.  No crossing the center line

4.  Helmet must be on and fastened at all times.

5.  30 seconds to pass, otherwise you must return to following distance.

6.  Following distance is two bike lengths.  Anything less than this is considered drafting.

7.  No passing on the right.

8.  No riding of bikes in the transition area.

Violations of the rules will result in time penalties and/or disqualification.

PARKING - Hells Gate is a state park and charges a daily use fee of $5 if you don't have the state park pass.

AWARDS - top three in each 10-year age group.  Special medals to people who finish BOTH events.
